     1SG(R) Leonard M. Hutton, a native of Bedford Virginia, joined the United States Army Reserve 16 March 1990 and transitioned into the Active Army 21 April 1992.  He has served in a variety of positions throughout his career culminating his career as the 1SG of the NCO Academy at Camp Parks in Dublin, CA.

     1SG(R) Hutton served in every enlisted infantry platoon position from rifleman to Squad Leader with deployments to the United States Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a member of Joint Task Force 160th January to May 1995 and to the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt with the Multi-National Force of Observers from July 1997 to January 1998.  1SG(R) Hutton also deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait January to October 2015 as the ARCENT NCOA Deputy Commandant.  He has also served as a Drill Sergeant, Drill Sergeant Leader, Senior Drill Sergeant Leader, Training Developer, Operations Sergeant, Operations NCOIC and Operations SGM.  His list of assignments include;  2nd BN 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Training Division, Lynchburg, VA;  2nd BN 9th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division (LIGHT) Fort Ord, CA and Fort Lewis, WA;  1st BN 327th Glider Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, (AASLT), Fort Campbell, KY;  1st BN 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey Korea;  HHC 101st Airborne Division, (AASLT), Fort Campbell, KY; 2nd BN 47th Infantry Regiment, Basic Combat Training BDE, Fort Benning, GA; 2nd BN 58th Infantry Regiment, Infantry Training BDE, Fort Benning, GA;   United States Army Drill Sergeant Program Office, U.S. Army TRADOC, Fort Jackson, SC; the Consolidated United States Army Drill Sergeant School, Fort Jackson, SC; Headquarters 75th Training Command, Houston, TX and United States Army NCO Academy Parks, Dublin, CA.

     1SG(R) Hutton’s military education include the Combat Lifesavers Course, NBC NCO Defense Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Infantry Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Advanced Infantry Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Drill Sergeant School, Total Army Instructor Training Course, Staff and Faculty Development Training Course, Training and Education Middle Manager Course, Modern Army Combatives Training Course (Level III), Master Resiliency Trainer Course and  the British Army Instructor Training Course.  He also holds an Associate Degree in general Studies from Central Texas College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Thomas Edison State University.

     1SG(R) Hutton’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one Silver and three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal with seven awards, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Bronze Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Meritorious Unit Accommodation, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, Multi-National Force of Observers Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, Air Assault Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and The National Infantry Association Order of Saint Maurice, Legionnaire Award.  1SG(R) Hutton is a member of the third class inducted in the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Hall of Fame.
