It is my honor to begin my fourth year of service as the Bedford Science and Technology Center principal, my twelfth year of school administration.  Career-Technical Education (CTE) is such an exciting area of education.  Every scholar needs a skill, and we aim to prepare students well for their "what's next," whether that next step be college before career, career, or military enlistment.

At Bedford Science and Technology Center (BSTC), we are passionate in sharing that it is wise for students to explore CTE courses no matter their future plans.  Practical, hands on skills enrich our lives and our understanding of subject matter. We have had electricity students become electrical engineers, for example.

Professionally, I am a traditionally-trained educator, graduating from Roanoke College valedictorian with significant coursework in psychology, sociology, elementary education, secondary education, and health care delivery.  My initial graduate work for principal licensure was completed at Virginia Tech, and I have pursued additional graduate training at the University of Virginia in business and health care.  All of these interests combine for me here at the CTE center.  In 2018, I also earned my superintendent's licensure.
In my spare time, I very much enjoy travel with my family, often focused on regional historic and "unusual" tourist sites.  My children, both of elementary-school age, keep me busy, and my husband, also an educator, helps me stay connected to multiple areas of education.  I learn something every single day at BSTC and welcome you to join in that adventure of lifelong learning with us!
